Singha Road, from 8am to 6pm. Targeted audience are members of the film industry in Laos. All
participants will have the chance to hold a 30 minutes session about any topic, as long as it is
related to film-making and/or television.
Participation is free. If we find sponsors, lunch and a T-shirt will be provided for free as well.
Registration will open soon on this blog.
Background: Vientianale 2011 and Luang Prabang Filmfestival 2010 have shown that there is a
interest in a network of those who work in the film industry. There is also still a lack of education and training in the film business and art.
A Filmcamp should bring people together in an informal environment. The basic idea is that
participants learn from each other. Topics can be filming, editing, sound engineering,
international copyright, scriptwriting, software etc. It is up to the participants what they want to talk about, and they decide it on the spot.
It is intended to invite film makers and film professionals from Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia to share their knowleded. Lao Star TV already offered support, and so does the Lunag Prabang Film Festival and the Department of Cinema, Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.
FilmCamp Laos can be a huge opportunity to develop the film business, to connect the players in the film industry and to establish a network for film and television professionals.
